Fighting Poverty
We are very grateful to all of the people and companies that we have been fortunate to work with over the years. It’s a wonderful feeling to watch as companies become more effective and grow, and in turn are able to enrich and improve the lives of their customers, employees, shareholders, suppliers, and other stakeholders. When companies grow in a flourishing economy, opportunities are created for people to pursue their dreams, build security for their families, and contribute to the vitality of their neighborhoods.
We cannot take the opportunities that we have been afforded for granted. The vast majority of the people we have worked with over the years were fortunate enough to have been born with access to an education. The economy around them was vibrant enough to provide opportunities to practice their trade or profession, and build comfortable lives and a secure future.
However, Billions of people in this world are not as fortunate. Born into poverty, without opportunities for education, in places where there are few viable businesses and inadequate economic growth, the world’s poor struggle each day to feed themselves and care for their families. The situation, for many, is hopeless.
We are so blessed to have so much!
As business leaders, we must take action to help others that are not as fortunate. We must do what we can to help educate, train, and employ people that want to work so they can care for their families, and build a future. We can and should bring help and hope.
